20 contact hours per renewal period. 2 hours must be bioterrorism and 2 must be hepatitis C. nurses employed in an emergency room setting on or after September 1, 2006 must complete a minimum of two hours of continuing education relating to forensic evidence collection. Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) contact hours must be targeted toward the advanced specialty area and role recognized by the Board.
