State and Other Fees
900.RENEWAL AND REINSTATEMENT FEES. Fees will be assessed for renewal of licensure or for reinstatement of a lapsed, disciplined, limited, or emeritus license. Any person submitting the renewal application and fee post-marked later than August 31 shall be considered delinquent and the license lapsed and therefore invalid: (3-30-07)
01. Licensed Professional Nurse Renewal Fee. Licensed professional nurses will be assessed a renewal fee of ninety dollars ($90) due by August 31 of each odd-numbered year. (3-30-06)
02. Licensed Practical Nurse Renewal Fee. Licensed practical nurses will be assessed a renewal fee of ninety dollars ($90) due by August 31 of each even-numbered year. (3-30-06)
03. Advanced Practice Professional Nurse. Licensed advanced practice professional nurses will be assessed a renewal fee of ninety dollars ($90) due by August 31 of each odd-numbered year. (3-30-06)
04. Emeritus License. Emeritus status nurses will be assessed a renewal fee of twenty dollars ($20) due by August 31 of the renewal year. (4-2-03)
05. Reinstatement Fee. Nurses requesting reinstatement of a lapsed, disciplined, limited, or emeritus license, or reinstatement of an emeritus license to active status, will be assessed the records verification and renewal fees. (3-30-07)
06. Delay in Processing. Processing of renewal applications not accompanied by cash, cashier’s check, a money order, or other guaranteed funds may be delayed in order to allow clearance of personal checks through the licensee’s bank.

Requirements
Licenses are renewed on a biennial basis - even-numbered years for licensed practical nurses (LPN) and odd-numbered years for professional nurses (RN). Licenses expire on August 31st of the appropriate year. To renew your license, click on the link below and follow the prompts. The current fee for renewing prior to the expiration date is $90.00. Payment for on-line licensure renewal may be made by American Express, Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card. Please note that the Board of Nursing is assuming the convenience fee for the on-line service.

If you are unable to renew on-line, you can request a paper renewal by contacting the Board of Nursing office at (208) 334-3110 ext. 21, or mail a request to Idaho Board of Nursing, PO Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0061, or send an e-mail to the Board: diana.anderson@ibn.idaho.gov. PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept fees without the accompanying signed renewal form. You may also renew your license on-line.
You may not renew your license on-line if one or more of the following apply to you:
* Your license has lapsed for more than one year * Your primary state (other than Idaho) of residence is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact. (See www.ncsbn.org External Link for a list of current states) {Note: if you are employed by the United States Government (including the Department of Defense), and a license in Idaho is required in order for you to perform your official duties, you may renew on-line.}
Licenses may be renewed on-line three (3) months prior to the expiration date of your current license and up to one (1) year after the expiration date. For any other time period, please contact the Board office to request an application for reinstatement.
